Monak Morris

AbSec Youth Ambassador

Monak is a Biripi woman from Taree, living on the Central Coast in Wyong on the lands of the Darkinjung. Monak experienced 11 foster care placements in OOHC in NSW, before coming to live with her Nan Pam, who she stayed with for 11 years, and continues to have a relationship with today. Monak is currently studying social work and community service, working towards a career with Aboriginal children’s services.

Monak bring her invaluable lived experience of OOHC, her studies and her passion for helping Aboriginal children to the Reference Group.
