Allison Cooper: My name's Allison, and I'm a project officer here at DCJ.

(Alison sits at her desk and uses a laptop)

What I love most about being project officer, is being able to influence and give a voice to the Aboriginal people in the community through our services and programs that we provide here at DCJ

(Screen shows ‘Aboriginal people, families and communities’ section on DCJ website).

What's great about working with this department is that there are so many career opportunities and an amazing network of Aboriginal people that you can learn from.

(Alison is shown talking with other Aboriginal colleagues in the office).

As a mother, I love that DCJ provides flexibility around my working. I don't always have to come into the office. I usually come in about 3 days a week, but that gives me the ability to pick up my child, and drop them off at daycare each day. Great conditions, great pay, what more could you want?

(Animated NSW government logo appears and music ends).

Information alert

Please note that at DCJ we commonly use the word "Aboriginal", recognising that Aboriginal people are the original inhabitants of NSW, the part of Australia we are responsible for. We acknowledge and respect that Torres Strait Islander people are among the First Nations of Australia and that both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are an important part of our staff and the communities we work with.
