Roles for Aboriginal people

Who are we looking for?

We want Aboriginal people with lived experience to work with communities across NSW, and to shape policies and programs that affect Aboriginal people.

Why we work for DCJ

Select different roles to watch videos featuring Aboriginal DCJ staff working in that role in DCJ.

Pathways at DCJ

At DCJ we welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for any role you may wish to apply for. We particularly encourage you to consider the roles below. These are positions where your lived experience and cultural knowledge are important and where the presence of Aboriginal staff makes a huge difference to our community.

What is the difference between frontline and backend roles?

Interested in working with DCJ? Whether you're working directly with our clients or helping out behind the scenes there are lots of opportunities in frontline or backend roles.

Information alert

Please note that at DCJ we commonly use the word "Aboriginal", recognising that Aboriginal people are the original inhabitants of NSW, the part of Australia we are responsible for. We acknowledge and respect that Torres Strait Islander people are among the First Nations of Australia and that both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are an important part of our staff and the communities we work with.
