Child safe related policies

The DCJ Child Safe Policy currently under development will provide a framework to enhance the consistent application of child protection legislation and child safe principles. This policy will be a commitment to the provision of safety for children and young people under 18 years of age accessing DCJ services and programs and focuses on how the department can build and maintain a child safe environment which is inclusive, transparent and promotes children and young people’s participation.

Informed by lessons of the past, Department of Communities and Justice is improving how we work with Aboriginal people and communities. We listen and learn from the knowledge, strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors, Aboriginal Elders and Aboriginal communities.
