Crown Copyright information

The General Counsel, Department of Communities and Justice is appointed by the Attorney General as delegate to administer dealings with Crown Copyright.

The Commercial team within Legal, Department of Communities and Justice assists in relation to Crown Copyright, and also manages the State’s whole of government agreements with collecting societies. The Commercial team also assists DCJ agencies with filming requests.

Crown Copyright applies to copyright material created by or for the services of government.
Governments can use copyright material but must notify and agree terms with copyright owners.
