Project objective

Partner with DEN to host three online round table events, featuring staff with lived experience of disability.

  1. Promote Public Service Commission’s Manager’s Guide To Creating An Inclusive Workplace to hiring managers.
  2. Align with Diversity and Belonging Strategy and Action Plan 2021-2023.
  3. Promote disability awareness e-learning module. d) Explore opportunities to deliver roundtable conversations with people with lived experience of disability for DCJ Hiring managers.

The challenge

Provide supporting resources, developed by DEN and HR, to hiring managers to encourage recruitment and retention of staff with disabilities.

What will success look like?

Partner with DEN to host three online round table events, featuring staff with lived experience of disability. a) Improved retention rates of staff with disabilities. b) Staff with disabilities report feeling supported and confident. c) PMES results relating to staff with disability.

Date: July 2023

Three virtual lunchtime events were delivered to Youth Justice staff between June 2022 and December 2022.

These “Disability Roundtable” events were delivered in partnership with the DCJ Disability Employee Network, providing supporting resources to hiring managers to encourage recruitment and retention of staff with disabilities.
