Person-centred LifeStory Profile

Directorate: Child and Family

Division: Strategy Policy & Commissioning

Project summary

Focus Area:

  • Improving access to mainstream services through better systems and processes.

Project objective

To design a person-centred, strengths-based profile for children with disability in care and protection.

The challenge

  1. Addresses Recommendation 12.21 of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse - the Profile will be a strengths based template that provides information about the child/young person, their disability, what they like, and how to best support them and provide guidance to caseworkers and staff on how to provide reasonable adjustments in a suitable way for each child/young person.
  2. A significant amount of research has supported the use of person centred profiles.

What will success look like?

Widespread usage of person-centred profile in Childstory by DJC caseworkers and staff.
