Supporting your client’s application
If you have a client who is a victim of violent crime or modern slavery in NSW and they were physically or psychologically injured, you can help them with their application for victims support in several ways.
Check the eligibility requirements
Check your client is eligible to apply for support under the scheme by visiting Eligibility criteria.
Help them understand what they need to apply
All applicants need to provide a completed application form and a clear copy or image of their government-issued identification.
If your client is seeking financial assistance or a recognition payment, they will need to provide extra documents. Please see the documentation required for your client’s application by visiting the webpage for each support type:
There are different documentary requirements for family members of a homicide victim to submit with their completed application form. Please see Family Victims – A Factsheet About Supporting Documents to learn more.

Let them know how to apply
Your client can apply online or download a PDF application form and send their completed form and supporting documents to us by email or post.

Become an authorised representative
An applicant for victims support can authorise their legal representative, someone from a support service or a family member or friend to be their authorised representative.
An authorised representative can communicate with Victims Services about their application and receive correspondence about their application, including decisions.
