Seniors' Christmas cheer nearly here

Free tickets to next month’s Seniors’ Christmas Concerts on the NSW north coast are now available, with former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan the headline act.

Minister for Seniors Natalie Ward said a full audience was expected for the two concerts, to be held at 11.30am and 3pm at Twin Towns Services Club on Thursday 16 December. Approximately 760 tickets will be available for each concert.

“With COVID restrictions now lifted, this is a fantastic opportunity for our seniors to celebrate Christmas cheer together,” Mrs Ward said.

“Hundreds of our seniors will be able to enjoy the fun and festivities at each of the concerts, with 100 per cent capacity now allowed. The tickets are expected to be snapped up quickly, so make sure you get in quick.”

Singer Casey Donovan will be joined by former ‘The Voice’ winner Harrison Craig, Nathan Foley of Hi-5 fame, indie-rock artist Imogen Clark and operatic tenor Lorenzo Rositano.

Ms Donovan said she is excited to perform live again, especially for such an appreciative audience.

“It’s always such a privilege to perform, especially giving back to our seniors in the form of music. It’s always such a treat and a joy and I hope to bring some Christmas cheer after a tough year,” Ms Donovan said.

The NSW Government has partnered with ClubsNSW to livestream the concerts at selected clubs across the state.

“After such a tumultuous year, this is a fantastic initiative from the government to boost people’s spirits. We are delighted to be invited to stream these Christmas Concerts in local clubs for patrons to enjoy,” said ClubsNSW CEO Josh Landis.

Those unable to attend the event in person can also enjoy the entertainment at home by registering through Humanitix to watch the livestream.
