To provide training that develops an increased understanding across the justice sector to enable staff to better identify and respond to the needs of people with a cognitive impairment.
Focus Area:
Develop a schedule of training to be delivered to frontline justice agencies on identifying and responding to the needs of people with a cognitive impairment in contact with in the criminal justice system. Attachment ‘A’ is the ARTD Training Needs Analysis a pdf document accompanies this document.
To provide an increased understanding across the justice sector to identify and respond to the needs of people with a cognitive impairment.
Building on the skills of frontline staff to better identify and respond to the needs of people with a cognitive impairment can allow for improved engagement and outcomes for this cohort.
The proposed project aligns with the following outcome areas for the DIAP:
