Promote Departmental resources to NSW community to support those who work or care for people with decision-making disabilities

Directorate: Justice Strategies & Programs

Division: Strategy Policy & Commissioning

Project summary

Promotion of the Capacity Toolkit and the free E-Learning Decision-making and capacity resources across NSW.

Focus Area:

  • Developing positive community attitudes and behaviours.

Project objective

NSW Community is aware of the Capacity Toolkit and the free E-Learning Decision-making and capacity.

The challenge

Informing the community on the rights of people with decision-making disability and practical ways to empower them to make decisions for themselves.

Why is this important?

Assumptions made about people with decision-making disability can stop them from accessing their rights to make decisions for themselves.

What will success look like?

A targeted communication plan is implemented and sees an increase in NSW community accessing the E-Learning 'Decision-making and Capacity' and requesting the Capacity Toolkit.

How will you measure success?

The numbers of people accessing the resources will increase. The E-Learning has a survey at the end that allows the community to provide feedback. Additionally diversity services email address is available on the page that the E-Learning is embedded allowing feedback at any stage of accessing the module.
