Recruitment

Any recruitment action for the NSW Carers Advisory Council is determined by the Minister in accordance with section 5.1 of the NSW Government Boards and Committees Guidelines September 2015

There is currently no recruitment action for the Carers Advisory Council.

Appointed members of the Council have the following attributes:

  • Lived experience as a carer
  • Experience in advocacy, policy development or strategy
  • An understanding of how people interact with government and other sectors in all aspects of their lives – civic, economic and community.

The Department of Communities and Justice provides secretariat support to the Council.

Council members participate in regular meetings and undertake work outside of meetings, including advancing projects and engaging with community members. 

Members receive sitting fees for attending meetings; however, in line with NSW Government Boards and Committees Guidelines, public sector employees appointed to Council do not receive remuneration.
